Official Rules & Scoring
To be eligible for awards, participants must complete a minimum of seven races. If a runner completes more than seven, only the top seven scores will be counted in the final scoring.
Your age group is determined by your age as of January 1 of the series year.
Age groups are as follows: 10 & Under / 11-15 / 16-19 / 20-24 / 25-29 / 30-34 / 35-39 / 40-44 / 45-49 / 50-54 / 55-59 / 60-64 / 65-69 / 70 & Over
Awards will be presented to the top five overall male and female finishers and the top three male and female age group finishers.
Runners must sign up with their RSU account that is associated with the RRS membership. RRS points are scored according to first and last name, as well as date of birth. This will ensure that all points can be scored accurately.
Scoring
All races are scored via the result set used, per event, per race.
All participants, regardless of if they are in the RRS or not will get scored for the race. Points are allocated as such: Overall to 5th place will receive 150,140,130,120,110 points appropriately for both genders. After that, points are then allocated for the top 3 in each of the respective age groups with points being 100,90,80 points.
All participants, including overall and age group winners, will be getting participation points as well for the race. Participation points will only be scored by runners' best 7 races.
RRS members, who have paid the membership fee to join in the series, will gain 1000 additional points upon signing up for the series.
Participation Points
Participation Points for 2026 are revamped to include more runners as well as competition. Points for 2026 will follow a “Points Per Mile” or PPM system. This system will allow runners to get points based on whatever distance/event they choose to run in the series. From a 2 mile race getting 2 participant points, all the way to a Half Marathon, worth 13 participation points. All participants will receive participation points for completing the race. Participants who finish in the top 5 overall in the race, or top 3 in their age group in the race, will receive the additional points below.
